Our Financial Planning Process
Many people wonder exactly what a financial advisor or wealth manager does. While everyone’s wealth management plan looks different, there are a few things you can expect when working with a certified financial planner, financial advisor, or wealth manager.
A financial advisor (or financial planner) helps you take stock of your existing financial situation and plan wisely for the future. This may involve providing investment advice, tax planning resources, retirement planning, trust services, and more. Your advisor will look for investment opportunities that make sense for you, and they’ll also help you plan for retirement income.
When you meet with your wealth manager, you’ll hear their expert opinions, and you’ll be able to ask questions about anything and everything regarding your money—from ideal investments for your goals to securities, asset management, and more.
At The Welch Group, we partition our initial consultation into two meetings: a one-hour ‘get to know you’ meeting, which serves as an overview, and a second, two-hour ‘drill down’ meeting, where we dive deeper into your portfolio and current financial situation. Our first meeting will go over your current financials, take a look at your objectives and concerns, and describe our process. In the second meeting, we’ll review your personalized financial statement, provide a cash flow retirement analysis, and detail our investment management approach to your portfolio and assets.
